WHAT'S ONE SIGNIFICANT WAY GOD HAS MOVED IN YOUR LIFE?
Two pivotal moments in my walk with Jesus: encountering His heart for the poor and justice in Scripture and discovering God’s heart to see me and others made whole.
- I vividly remember the first time I read Isaiah 58 where God says true worship is not finding Him in the Temple but sharing your food with the hungry, loosening the chains of injustice, and setting the oppressed free. I felt like a significant part of God, that I had never seen before was being unveiled, and He was inviting me to spend my life on behalf of the marginalized and oppressed.
- When after a long season of intense ministry, where I had neglected my family and personal health to the point of burn out, God invited me to value my emotional, spiritual, and physical health, as well as the health of my family as deeply as I had valued the sacrificial ministry for the lost and marginalized.
WHY ARE YOU WORKING WITH THE ST. PETE UNDERGROUND?
I love getting to carry out this Vision through our Organization, creating a service platform so that missionaries can be inspired, encouraged, and equipped by Jesus. I get to help play a small, but important part of seeing the Kingdom grow in Pinellas, and it’s my joy.
WHAT ARE YOUR DREAMS FOR THE CITY?
My heart and calling, since starting to follow Jesus, have always felt woven into my hometown city. I long to see people in Pinellas restored to who they were meant to be, made whole and living into their God-give purpose. Even more, my heart aches for corners of my city that are unreached with the gospel.
